Caustic Clouds - Extrinsic EP

Hey everyone,

Long time lurker here. Just wanted to share my first electronic beat oriented EP under the name Caustic Clouds, that I released back in November.

It was made using my Eurorack system, an OP-1, Serum, and various guitar pedals for weird glitchy effects, all multi-tracked into Logic X.

If you happen to check it out, please feel free to let me know what you think (positive or negative). I'd also be happy to answer any questions if you happen to have any.

Thanks!

First of all, nice cover art.
Secondly, welcome in, same boat, etc.
3rd, just started listening and I enjoy it very much so far!
(Am I listening through a mirror?) Alkaloid is great! reminds me of my own stuff a little bit. lol
Like how Dynamic N7A sounds. Keeps building nicely too.
*note to self. release in digestible chunks to get more feedback easily maybe :)*
lovely churns and squelches. Cipher sounds like baby awtechre. I mean it in a good way!
Nice EP. each track better than the previous, perhaps.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it. But yeah, I've been thinking lately that maybe just releasing several EP's a year would be better for feedback purposes, audience engagement, sonic exploration, etc. Especially when in this beginning stage of releasing stuff. I can only see "like a baby awtechre" as a compliment though, they're one of my favourites!

welcome :))))))))))))

this is sounding pretty lush i like the panning shit

around 2:35 onwards in Alkaloid the sucky dwop hit is starting to sound out of time to my ears, perhaps it was intentional not sure

N7As got good momentum and bounce

i really wanna smash a huge hall reverb on Cipher and see what it sounds like, might give it a tiiiny bit more life

oh damn it picks up at 4:19

good timbres i like it, the ligeti sounding strings are nice too

Hey there,

Thanks for listening, I really appreciate it.

I kept this mix of Cipher on the drier side to help avoid muddiness, but it certainly can sound pretty interesting with something like a hall reverb. Should probably experiment around with that more some day.
