It is there underneath the BomBomBomShWAaphWOAOWAOWAomom PHA! Beatz

That fat PHA-Snare= Parhelic

Triangle waveform on the melody = Triangle.

I know exactly what they have in mind with this track.

It is a surprisingly straight melody amidst all the chaos for sure! I know what you a mean. A beautiful moment.

The sound design in Confield is so subtle and next level and organic.

yeah i dunno what it reminds me of actually, some kind of lumbering deep thing

it has that dragging feeling, sort of ancient and sleeping

I wish I could ask them again about this. I always wondered if those bell-like sounds are gamelan, and if they borrowed them from Squarepusher who brought them from Asia. Could they be the same as the ones used in 'Gong acid'?

yeah pretty much "+1" on everything you guys said here about this track, I agree

loving it and yeah that melody (that kind of struggle out to emerge at the end) make that track intense emotionally speaking, out of the forefront spooky vibe

there are aspects that, for natural reasons of change and renewal, have been lost today ... I'm fine, they have left room for new ideas and possibilities, but I don't deny it: I miss them a little

I listened to just Parhelic Triangle in isolation. What an amazing track.

Often I find that's the best way to listen to Autechre - just one track at a time, pure focused attention.

they tease this melody in really well. at first you just notice at the very end but on further listens you realize it actually comes in a couple minutes earlier and hangs out making a nice weird harmony with the bells

I love that about Autechre, tracks that seem really opaque on first and even tenth listen, suddenly revealing really pretty melodies hidden in plain sight.

Clever bastards.
