AE live in daylight

chillin' under the sun listening to untilted liveset     ...quite unsusal, as they usually play in the dark.

I saw another youtube short video of another ae live in daylight (from early 2000 era) , bt I can't find it back now.

ps : I made a bit of search trough the autechre topics, surprisingly it seems this had not been posted yet on the forum, (if I'm wrong , sorry for the re-post )

this short clip that was probably recorded on a 2001 era nokia brick phone is the only other one I know of

From the thread title I knew the thread was about the Turku gig. But it's a bit hard to have an outdoor gig in darkness in summer in Finland in any case.

I have no idea how I missed the gig back in 2006. Probably was too busy trying to graduate that summer and fall to pay any attention to festival lineups.

I assumed this was gonna be a thread for those weird paparazi stalkers pics we get of people like Kanye. Walking around in the daylight unbothered & unaware.

i coulda sworn there was one from Confeild era with a load of unreleased stuf that had a similar angle. outside and sunny too. I thinkt hat may be the one neurone also cant find

ah I found it back ! but actually it's not a video, just a photo with 17 minutes of audio. nevermind.

That day was a particularly hot one - very unusual for Finland - and because the venue was an open square in the middle of Turku, there was almost no shade anywhere. I was there the whole day, playing records between live acts (it was so hot that the term "warm up" would be ridiculous) - the stage area was very limited - except for Autechre, whose gear was set up static - so there was a lot of hassle setting up and tearing down things between acts. It's probably the most physically taxing gig I've ever had, but it wtas definitely offset by getting to hang out backstage.

There were three purpose-built opaque canvas screens covering Autechre's setup from the sides and from the front, but using them was scrapped- the screens made the enclosed space an oven, so they were discarded. They would've wanted to play without people seeing them, but it just wasn't humanely possible - that's the reason they're playing in plain view. The screens were in place up until starting time, they were removed post haste when the set began.

oh yeah ? well,! I'm a bit disappointed they asked for this... I like the fact that they play in total darkness, it make total sense. but if they're playing outdoors and at daytime, I would be quite disturbed facing a big canvas, it would be awkwarding, i'd rather see them actually. We know that  they consider there is nothing interesting in watching them, they prefer to have the public focused on the sound, wich is fine....but yet, having that canvas as a stage visual would be very strange to me. dunno...

does a complete live recording exist of the 2006 turku set??? sounded great from the short youtube clip. Looked in downloads but couldn't find anything : /
