NIN's Head Like A Hole... Covered by DEVO!

Pretty Hate Machine era NIN covering any of the first four Devo albums would have been pretty lush

Like specifically I'm imagining a NIN version of Devo's version of Satisfaction

Just ... no.

I don't think I've ever heard someone cover NIN and made it work. I mean, the songs are good enough by themselves but knowing Trent's incredibly intense (and, admittedly, self-serious) versions exist makes the cover versions seem lame. Not different, not unique, just lame.

there's a devo live record that is like industrial distortion + moogs and punk rock. early stuff but full on raging it up. the cover has one of th eguys wearing a jockstrap and like an SM mask on his head. 

it's as hard as anything.
