What is IDM? Intelligent dance music (abbreviated as IDM because it sounds wanky as heck otherwise) is a style of electronic music originating in the early 1990s. Emerging from music styles such as techno, acid, ambient and breakbeat, and spawning genres such as braindance. IDM is defined by individualistic experimentation and outside the box sound design.

what is that site? it's a resource or it's a promotional something something? looks very 90s.. psytrance vibes.

So my guess is that it's an ambitious passion project (though now-abandoned) or a school assignment / graduation project from someone really loving IDM.
On the forums https://idm-discovery.tribe.so/ there's someone called Ruby Hoad aka Ruby Violet https://idm-discovery.tribe.so/user/rubyviolet, who's description says "Level 28 music nerd from Australia." and a post says "Hey everyone! I'm Ruby, the owner of IDM Discovery, lets foster a community of fellow music nerds. "
Anyway, it's a cool website. Good job for the person(s) who made it. Awesome.
