De:tuned is releasing the Nuron + Fugue bonus tracks (the extra CD/tape from Nuron) on (black + coloured) vinyl. You know what to do.

Fuck me, unbelievable. I’d be less annoyed if the extremely expensive CD and tape people have been waiting over a year for had been released already.

hmmmm. no wonder the cds took so long.

i definitely fall into the annoyed camp - as i don't even buy cds but was under the impression the material was exclusive.

im not familiar with this group, but upon listening these bandcamp previews sound like low bitrate mp3s, or maybe went to town with some noise removal plugin.

I still have no idea why the CDs are taking so long, you don’t take peoples money and then just sit on it, CDs take a couple of weeks to produce at most, maybe add a few months for artwork etc.

I too was under the impression they were exclusive tracks, regretting the CD purchase now, would rather have ordered this for far less.

I absolutely love the tracks but I’m so negative on this whole release at the moment. Feel like a mug.

edit: just noticed the vinyl release date, so yes, that explains the delay to the CDs/Tapes, but guess we didn’t deserve an explanation for the year long wait.

New info

i would say the year long wait was so the cd release would coincide with the vinyl release? which is dumb. def feels like people who initially bought this - like myself - got burned.  but whatever. new old nuron for everybody.
would say the sound quality was not great on the files I was sent. but they were just demoes. but seeing this is a legit release now here is hoping there is an improvement.

I'm quite disappointed as well, I was under the impression that the Nuron Bandcamp release would be more or less exclusive and thusly accepted the price point for the CDs. It's not a bait-and-switch, but bit of a money pump.

yehh, I mean, I couldn't care less about CDs, I have about 10 CDs, and 6,000 vinyl records.  To wait that long, still not have the thing, and then they get released on vinyl + digital anyway?  what a cheeser, man.  I'll have to shell out more cash to maintain my complete nuron/likemind collection - I don't think I'll bother tbh.

perhaps this CD has something special about it though eh, as has been alluded to..  perhaps it's autographed..  perhaps it has some nurmad jusat pubes sellotaped to the back of it, who knows...  though, being real, the bandcamp image looks like an unprinted CDR in a card sleeve so I won't get too excited

and what happened to those extra 2 (download-only) remixes not on the CD which have been promised?  they weren't in the download link I was sent

When I emailed Nurmad a couple of weeks back he said the more expensive price was because we would receive "exclusive downloads of remixes and selected future releases", but not holding out much hope, it's been a year and we've had nowt extra.

Hello,

Today sees the release of DAT Tapes 1993-1994 on De:tuned (vinyl and digital). I want to let you know that I originally intended these tracks to be available only on CD and cassette. After pre-orders started on Bandcamp, De:tuned approached me with an offer to release the tracks on vinyl, which I accepted. The differences between DAT Tapes 1993-1994 and the bonus tracks on the CD and cassette releases are the Stasis mixes of Contrapoint (Stasis Mix 1 and 2), which are exclusive to the two releases respectively. Those who purchased the CD and cassette versions of Nuron + Fugue 1993-1996 will be receiving a download code for DAT Tapes 1993-1994 in the next few days.

The remixes are also on the way, which is part of the reason why the release has been delayed (along with various production issues) and instead of the 2 new remixes there will now be 5 of them to look forward to.

There are also Bandcamp exclusive digital releases planned for early next year which owners of the CD and cassette versions will receive free download codes for.

Thank you again for your patience.

Nur
