ugh i hope this dumbass review isn’t the reason we don’t have more brothom  i could see it being pretty deflating, especially in that time period, to work so hard and get signed to warp and then just get sunk by some dumbass hipster on what at the time was  one of only a handful of places most people got info about music online

What I vaguely recall is that he had some preexisting beef with Pitchfork (probably over something said in an earlier P73 review), so they decided to go full diarrhea on whatever he put out next.

Also that cringe achilles/tortoise autechre one.

Yes, and Claro really stood the test of time IMO.

I remember reading that back then and being like daaaamn, little harsh no? to be fair, it's not exactly a great album/comp/whatever, but IIRC there are a few bangers on it (haven't given it a whirl in probably 15yrs). P4k definitely came out guns blazing on that one.
