Boomkat described this as Plaid meets Art Bears, which at least gives you a rough idea.  Very inventive and unconventional, but still easy to enjoy and with a lot of nice electronic and acoustic sounds.

Love this album! So many unexpected developments in the tracks, to the point where it feels like the whole thing should fall apart from getting pulled in opposing directions, but there's something I can't quite put my finger on that's holding it all together.
