Pancake Lizard

I been just listening to all my mp3s for the past week of every genre you can imagine, and "pancake lizard" played today randomly and just a tidal wave of memories washed over my subconsious..

I think its gotta be one of my favorite songs of all time.

Yeah, I love the soft sort of hammer noises that start at around 2:45.

Yeah I had this once before I got any Aphex albums. Now I fancy giving it another listen, what album is it on?

edit: oh yeah il post the interview by friday at least btw. was watching france banish the cheating hoes today and got overtime tomorrow...

Why it's none othet that track 4 on Donkey Rhubarb. And i've taken a real liking to the othet tracks as well :grin:

If I Care Because You Do was filled with tracks like Pancake Lizard and Donkey Rhubarb then... well... it wouldn't suck.

That said...

I wish he made an album filled with tracks of the same callibre as Donkey Rhubarb and Pancake Lizard. Pancake Lizard is just soooo pretty

??? I Care Because You Do is class. I rarely find myself listening all the way through cos is seems to have a kind of schizoid progression. I can't listen to the first 3 tracks and then Icct Hedral for example, because it just seems to different in feel (although a class track in itself).

What?!? Are you mad? come on, you can't be serious....

i don't know, In my opinion, ICBYD is the best peice of Aphex material ever released. Also his most creative.

I agree that ICBYD is one of the weakest Aphex releases. It was still groundbreaking in ways for its time, but most of the song arrangements kind of drag. He could have done so much more with it.

...But everything after is gold.

And the song this thread is dedicated to --just listening to it for the first time now. REALLY nice. Definitely one of his best from that era. Thanks for turning me on to this track acid1!

I'm sorry.. I shouldn't be an such a dick about it... I honestly just can't understand what the fuss is about ICBYD... there's some decent stuff on there but even the best tracks just don't compare to alot of his other work.

Still... I understand that most people disagree with me on this and it was rude for me to make a comment like that.

All the same, I'd rather listen to Donkey rhubarb and Pancake Lizard over and over again for an hour than listen to ICBYD :P

I personally can't stand Donkey Rhubarb. Pancake Lizard on the other hand is awesome yes.

everyone should grab the peel session version linked in this forum. the ending samples a firing squad and it fits so well

pancake lizard is superb and is sometimes even better ar 45rpm (depending on your mood)
