FUJI||ll TA - MMM

I discovered this artist during lockdown. His style is pretty esoteric and haunting. Of his output so far, my favourite is Komori (from back in 2020).

Anyway, his new album is equally enthralling if you like drone, field recordings and so forth. M-3 with it's undulating, mantra-like instrumentation, is nothing less than stunning; from Tibetan-style prayer chants to Eastern Orthodox choral scales, reminds me of Popol Vuh's 'sei still, wisse ich bin'.

Got a lot of mileage out of his previous Hallow Ground outing. Pretty bummed I managed to miss his show when he was in town.
