Beijing / North-East China travel tips

About to head off to China for 2 weeks. Taking a flight to Beijing, train to Anshan and then travel to Dandong, Shenyang and Yuncheng before returning to Beijing for 2-3 days. Any tips wrt record shops, electronics, food/drink and general cool places to visit? Also curious about general China travel recommendations/discussion.

Ok, since no one seems to have any tips I’ll just blog my travels here. 

I used to work with someone from somewhere near Harbin. The way she described it was interesting, it was the first part of China to be properly industrialised, and apparently today it has a bit of a run-down aesthetic to it, somewhat at odds with the glittering modernism on offer in most Chinese cities (from what I gather anyway). Might be an interesting area to explore
