Not sure how many Hexalyne fans we have on the message board, but I figured I'd open a post for him as he's one of my favorite artists of the modern times. I honestly think he's one that can and deserves to get much more attention based on the strength of his work so far... a real heavy hitter for IDM these days, i think.

Hexalyne has three main LPs so far, Tcaresett on Kaer Uiks label: Tcaresset | Hexalyne | Kaer'Uiks (bandcamp.com), and then Null Surfaces and Exivvaves on Point Source Electronics: Null Surfaces | Hexalyne (bandcamp.com) and Exivvaves | Hexalyne (bandcamp.com). Last year he also had a killer split LP with an artist called Lain on Evel: Evel 46 (96KHZ/24BITS) | Hexalyne _ Lain | EVEL (bandcamp.com). All of these albums are fantastic imo, with Tcaresset being my favorite.

I'm hoping we get a new release soon, perhaps by the end of the year on Point Source.

RIYL: Hecq's glitchy idm era, Richard Divine's 2000s output, Autechre's LP5.

that split on EVEL is great, it makes for a good listen having their similar but differing styles back and forth.

To me they don't sound similar at all tbh... the pairing actually surprised me initally..... Hexalyne's heavily glitchy, abstract idm with Lain's cinematic, melodic dnb... bit odd thrown together.

That said, all the songs are good, so I love the whole of it. I'd actually love to hear more from Lain, if anybody knows of other releases from the project, if they exist.

Hexalyne had a song on Satellite Era's comp this year, in case anyone missed it:

He also put one out on a Clean Error Records too late last year... both excellent:

Been getting into Hexalyne's prior work under the name Randomform this week...

Here's a free hour long mix he did for the Crazy Language label to celebrate their decade anniversary a few years back:

 Crazy Language - 10Y.A.A.R. MIX | Randomform | Crazy Language (bandcamp.com)

The next one here he did with Detroit Underground, and I dig it. I wouldn't say it's as good as his work under Hexalyne, but it's definitely working up to it. Opens up after a few listens and killer production as always:

Aaaaand entire discography purchased. Very into this.

I know Autechre comparisons aren't cool, but really, this stuff does riff on something very similar to that middle LP5-to-Confield era which is something I need more of in my ears.

Oh nice! Glad you dig. Im very into this sound of that era too. Point Source label and Clean Error Records has similar output if you dig that kind of stuff

ERR048: Errormatic Vol.3 | Various Artists | Clean Error Records (bandcamp.com)

Over the past month, and much more recently, I've reviewed each of Hexalyne's albums over at sputnikmusic in hopes to reach more listeners. I used to be a staff reviewer over there but dont write so much now, so kinda retired. So anyway, here's me trying to write about the music I like. I hope anybody new to him checks him out!

Tcaresset: Hexalyne - Tcaresset (album review ) | Sputnikmusic

Null Surfaces: Hexalyne - Null Surfaces (album review ) | Sputnikmusic

Exivvaves: Hexalyne - Exivvaves (album review ) | Sputnikmusic

Scillocsenports: Hexalyne - Scillocsenports (album review ) | Sputnikmusic

I'll probably do his split LP with Lain too. That one is so good as well. Cheers
