Nice Pads!!!

This is really fugging good!

Very inventive bass line to start off with, I like it a lot. I like the way the track progresses a lot, though it gets kind of 80's rock ballad sounding towards around 3 minutes. Though I have to admit this is the best tune composition-wise I've ever heard from you. Again I think the way you've made the parts kind of blend together is very well pulled off. The only complaint I really have is the consistency of the big bass/noisey pad going on up t0 4:54 or so. I like the change up at that point that.

Very cool as far acid is concerned. I would say mess with the drums sounds some and 4/4 isn't my preferred technique, but this is acid. Well done.

I liked the release on retropublik you had a while back, too. Though this is better.

this is really fantastic... it's an excellent slinky acid line to begin with

and i especially like the synth that gradually comes in after the intro - it

really gives the song an edge in the way it emphasises different notes in

in the acid line. it's such a strange harmony/feeling! that distant flute-y

synth that comes in just before the guitar/keys (i can't really tell) solo

is an excellent sound.

 

this is - like that other guy said - really well-written and it's in such an

effortless way. everything just evolves like an acid track should but this is

just really well done. you tweak the 303 in all the right spots and there's

some very nice little pattern changes... when the first funky acid line changes

into this staccato do-do-do-de-do thing at 1:56 it's a pretty nice moment for

sure. likewise at 3:40 just when the guitar solo finishes and the acid line

changes back to a slinky one again. the song just keeps evolving and building!

 

the change at 4:38 i didn't really like and kept waiting for it to change

back but it never really. i could appreciate it if after a minute or

so of those keys you gradually started to bring back those first backing

pads (and that progression) but as it is it feels kind of tacked on and the

song feels kind of unresolved.

 

but yeah i really like the direction you've had going lately with the lush

pads over really melodic acid stuff... thanks chris!

the solo was a synth (i believe it was an arp plug) not a guitar, the track had like i think 4 basslines patches, most of the tweaking was with the accent as well as the squeltchy bits.

it was all done live recorded as it was made kinda thing using ableton just for the synths and post mastering.

also i agree im liking most of my werk as of late, its more thought out and stuff, i havnt felt the need to go hardcore latley

sadly i dont have anyfriends who own any analouge equipment, it's tough being the only guy in bournemouth who does acid

i brought myself a Casio Sk5 the other day for £5 so i might start adding some dogy house samples in a few of my tracks soon.
