(Belated) RIP Sneaksta

Just about the saddest thing that can happen when googling a friend you've lost touch with is to find out that they've died. Although he shuffled off this mortal coil three years ago, I think I only found out about his passing a small handful of months ago. We were never super close, but @sneaksta303 is undoubtedly one of the WATMMers I'm glad I got to call a friend even outside of the walls of this forum. A seemingly endless fount of creativity, Mike always had a ton of new music on the go, whether as H.P. Sneakstep, a movie score under his given name, or his work with the netlabel Karakasa Music which many here will be familiar with. He had truly had it it all; In addition to his prolific artistic output, we've lost a warmhearted (even with an acerbic side), smart, funny, and handsome chap who was someone who really made this place what it was (and is) for a lot of us here. Hard not to listen to Quaristice or watch Twin Peaks or even just think of those two works without thinking of the late Mike Schiralli.

ah man... had no idea. he was one of the first people I joked around with on the forum. so talented and such a nice guy. RIP, Mike.

Terrible. A real forum mainstay, class act and terrific artist. I used to play his Rehab Is For Quitters mixes to all my friends and felt like a superstar when he added one of my tunes.

Same. I didn't know him outside of watmm but he was possibly the first board member that I felt a welcoming, “friend” vibe from. Definitely sad, sad news.

Agree here. He was always nice and that’s saying a lot for those days of watmm. RIP. Bummed to hear this.

I had no idea. I never met him in person but I liked him very much and have missed his presence. RIP. 

This sucks to hear. I've not been active on WATMM for a very long time but randomly decided to check it tonight and found this post. Mike helped me out and got me my very first netlabel-release through Karakasa back in 2009, which i'm still grateful for, and was just an all around good dude. RIP.

Definitely he was one of the first people in here to acknowledge me and give me the time of day back when this place was kinda aggressive to new faces/outsiders

I member his username popping up a lot but I don't think we've ever interacted with each other but still, ffs, every member on this board feels like family after 24 years or such... godspeed brother, where/when ever u are...

Really sad news

Back in the day we were on the same torrent sites and used to check in on each other, always a really friendly guy.

I knew he had a difficult life but still surprised hearing this.

I never knew him, but I have fond memories of being new and excited on the forum and discovering the cool music of many of the members here. His EP w/acidphakist under the Branch Acidian moniker is one of the highlights of the homebrew acid craze around that era. Had a little acid party at home yesterday and replayed the tracks.

Rest in Peace Sneaksta.
