Ray Fire 2 reminds me of Yosemite Sam blowing up gold in the Rocky Mountain Mines

Good shout. Should probably have another run through it. If my memory serves me correctly there is one massive classic on this record which is saved on my Warp playlist. But yeah, worth another investigation.

Solid album overall, from what I remember. Baltang Ort & D Frozent Aac in particular go hard, although I felt that it ended too abruptly.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

tbh.... as much as i do love Be Up A Hello & Dostrotime, i do wonder how a 3rd record in this brostep-IDM fusion sound design would've sounded like

and yes i know that some tracks from the latter were made in the same System as DF (not making that same mistake after whining about it on the Wendorlan release and finding out it was made in a similar way LOL ) but it doesn't feel quite as adventurous imo

anyways on the actual album itself:

i believe Exjag Nives was one of the first  tracks i ever heard so ill have a soft spot for that one but in general i just love how dark & menacing of a tone this album tends to go for (about half of it id say) and executes it extremely well to my ears

though admittedly it took a while for me to stop chuckling every time the climax of Baltang Ort happened

Stor Eiglass & D Frozent Aac are some of his best openers & closers respectively, especially love how Frozent just ends the album on such a dark yet euphoric note

Rayc Fire 2 & Baltang Arg will always be notable for how different they sound to most of his discography to me, Baltang Arg especially its just such an adventurous and fun track. and Rayc Fire 2 just r i p s

Kontenjaz i still do enjoy every time it comes on but have a hard time remembering what it sounds like. its fun though.

and finally.... Kwang Bass. I completely understand why this is the one track from this album he still plays live because MY GOD ITS SUCH A FUCKING BANGER i especially love the screeches on this one they make me lose it

overall id understand the people who hate this album and think its dated and tacky and cheesy but personally this is one his strongest albums to date.

Its probably like a 7/10 for me, some absolute killer tracks, (Baltang Ort is potentially a top 10 for me), and the general sense that he was heading out of the brostep era but still indulging in some of it's finery. I prefer Be Up and Dostro to this but record but I do like the brooding darkness and aggression that is back on display here, and the silly whimsical stuff (Kontenjaz) is even more wacky than normal, a record of extremes.

This one has always rubbed me the wrong way, the album is really unpleasant to listen to i think. Probably my least favorite Tom release

Rarely listen to the LP but saw the live tour twice and loved it, i knew the tracks' highs n lows, anticpated the little drops, kicks, frisons that Tom is so good at and generally had a blast. So for me it's a "live" mood thing..just never in that mood for, as folks  have said, the dark brooding vibes at home/in the car etc... Festivals? Sign me up

pretty sure I wore out the cd in my car on the last 2 or 3 tracks alone.  The evil darkness that sp can bring is some majestic shit.  Was so nice for a drive
