i dont get fabfilter...just plugins

far cheaper options out there...even though that sketch thing looks mental its just a new way of doing the same thing

recommend crave eq and kilohertz eq...cheap and basically pretty much the same unless u wanna spend mad bucks

Why even bother with those options? If you want to EQ something, just cover your ears with your hands and adjust the positioning of your hands.

Much cheaper, and basically pretty much the same unless you wanna fuckin throw your money away lol

It's quick, the UI is great, it has amazing features, visually appealing, easy to understand what is going on, up to 24 bands if you need it, and as someone who uses the magic mouse I can smoothly change the Q value by simply scrolling up and down.

Anyway, it's like religion. They're all the same and people will fucking murder you if you disagree with their religion. So that means Crazing is now on my murder list. God is great!!

I'll probably pick this up eventually, but I'm not totally sure I really want the new features. Might stay on Q3 for a while. Fabfilter stuff gets cheaper when you wait for sales, buy multiple and/or bundle. And if you already have purchases on your account, you get personal upgrade offers for more things that add another 30-70% discount or whatever based on some formula of how much you've already purchased. For me I started with a 3 piece bundle and eventually ended up with the compressor, limiter, pro-R, saturn, and Pro Q. Super solid suite of tools. Love the compressor, super versatile and fast to dial in for me, love saturn too. I basically use all of the above on every channel, saturate, eq, compress, room verb to taste, (not in that order). They are just good UX, fast and easy to work with and do their respective jobs within a relatively easy to find "sweet spot" which is what I care about more than anything, they get deep if you want to get deep but they don't shove the deep features in your face. Crazy how quickly I can dial in a dynamic sidechain or add a notch.

That being said there are plenty of great alternatives out there for EQ. Stock EQs and Free dynamic ones like the excellent https://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-nova/

Heard good things about Kirchoff EQ too, outshines Pro Q3 for sure in features, Q4 looks like it is probably catching up

That multiview option is amazing!

Going through the manual…probably obvious to everyone, but just in case:

Because the feature set of Pro-Q 4 has changed fundamentally, any automation data that has been written by a Pro-Q 3, Pro-Q 2 or Pro-Q 1 instance cannot be read correctly by Pro-Q 4.

Note: We are in contact with developers from all plug-in frameworks to implement a way of properly replacing old Pro-Q instance with new Pro-Q 4 instances, including the translation of automation data, but sadly this is not possible yet at the moment.

Using it as a vocoder was hilarious. I love it.
