A thread for and about Graffiti

Starting with a pic from a legendary book called “spraycan art”. The mount Olympus of graffiti. It is a curiosity because of the crossover with what WATMM is about. Long before a certain Goldie released tunes and had a label called Metalheadz, he made it into this book.

i've posted a lot to instagram stories.. i've thought of gathering them all up and putting them in one place.. but haven't done that yet.. here's some that were still on my phone..all these are from bike rides around portland.  the last wall used to have a different piece on it and was recently done over. the previous piece had been up for years. it was amazing. i'll have to find those pics. otherwise.. lot's of train cars. the light is often not so good for getting the colors to turn out as good as they look irl and i get kind fascinated by the color choices sometimes.

Local car garage where owner asked local crew do tag the walls (I like the texture with the paint over bricks and other weathered concrete cracks etc. - also nice vibrant color palette):

This one my favorite. Local hand style known as 'wicket' - I have no idea what the tag is, as it is meant to only be legible to practiced writers (which I am not). Esoteric literacy if you ask me. I really like the flows on this one:

Love this. Was well into graff when I was a nipper. I have two mates who still paint and they are nearly 50 years old. When I get some time (after Xmas) I'll post up some of their work. In the meantime I'll enjoy this thread. Style Wars is one of my favourite films of all time. 

I once spray painted the numbers from Lost on a bench and felt like a pretty cool guy.
