A surprise new Buspin Jieber album, synthwave par excellence. Digital only (for now), highly recommended.

I unapologetically love all Buspin Jieber releases, as well as Gudmundur Gudmunsson's other alias, Murya. Buspin Jieber is definitely top-shelf synthwave, there's a lot of sub-par/bland/generic output in that genre.

Now that I've had the time to listen to this album a lot more, I have to admin that it's my least favourite album of Jieber's - not because of the vocals, but because the tracks themselves are just simple backing for the vocals, and can't stand on their own as Jieber's purely instrumental output does. But it's still a nice synthwawe/(dream)pop album.

It's difficult to find anything on that album that adds anything to what's already out there. This is mainly for fans who want to return to rehashed eighties Depeche Mode, I guess. It's all too unremarkable, I'm afraid.

I did like maybe two pieces from his album from a few years back. This, I find to be, well, embarrassing. I don't see how this is for fans of a rehashed Depeche Mode. Sounds nothing like them.

If people want good synth wave (for me, a bit of a contradiction in terms) - I would point them to Lucy in Disguise - Unknown Frequency.

Also for a more general, 80's pop vibe - Martial Canterel and Drab Majesty.
