For our first release of 2025, Incienso is excited to present “GNOSIS”, the debut album from San Francisco-based musician Raven.
Dripping in warped synthesizer tones and flickering drum patterns, “GNOSIS” is a bold and new exploration into Raven’s timeless and immersive world.

I'll be honest with you when I first heard this I was fairly sure it was Actress working under a pseudonym, the sound palate, artwork and even track titles sound like something he would have done about 10 years ago, but some cursory googling suggests Raven is a real guy. I don't mean this as a criticism either, its not a shoddy knockoff, just somebody working in a very similar area. Pristine shiny sci fi synth textures, hazy atmospheres, not much in the way of percussion but plenty of rhythmic movement. Very mellow and sombre. Maybe the lack of originality will annoy some listeners but I really like this record, its probably gonna get played a lot this year.
