laptops and ableton...

hi folks...

i think i'm possibly going to need a laptop soon for gigging and was wondering what is the minimum spec a laptop would need to run ableton successfully.

(presuming i'll have a decent external soundcard).

Gig of ram?

i just got a new lappy with 1gb ram and 1.8ghz processor to use ableton on. it runs almost perfectly with a load of effects and synths playing in 32ths.

Runs OK on my 1.6Ghz AMD MT 64, only got 512MB RAM too.....pity I can't work out how to use Ableton properly....

Oh well, back to FLoops....

yeah, anything above 1ghz and 512ram should be a'right. my old desktop ran ableton fine with that and 1ghz sucks for a laptop these days so any decent mid-price will easily cut it.

Also try and get a laptop with a fast hard drive. 7200rpm makes a big difference when using audio programs.

don't load the GRM tools into live!
