Two cassettes appeared on eBay last week, dated 1999, then 30 tape copies sold out instantly on bc, digitals and vinyl soon...

I got one of the tapes from the first batch, but there will be another batch of 30 released tomorrow. I'll probably get rid of the tape when the vinyl becomes available. I didn't know about the eBay tapes, but they're most probably just part of the release campaign, PoD definitely didn't exist 25 years ago, as didn't Cult 48 they were part of before they split and Carbinax continued as Cult 48.

I won't allow myself to believe that they've been active for nearly 30 years, and that there has been a quarter of a century of silence between activity then and now - unless I'm proven wrong w/ evidence. I think they're fabricating mystique, and I hate the artificial scarcity angle.

yeah, if a POD band member created that discogs entry, that would be a red herring.

LOL, the 7" lathe cut from 1997 was removed from PoD's Discogs, because no-one has it although "information is coming directly from the artist that it exists" - the mods weren't having it, it's gone. Also, the latest tape release had its release date revised to 2025-03-23 because the mods didn't believe that the date visible in the J-card is real: "This clearly isn’t from 1999. Please fix the date" - "Read the date on the inside J-Card Flap. 13 AUG 1999." - "Very funny joke...but please just fix it" - and in the end the date was revised. These hijinx are more than enough to cast suspicion on the history PoD are trying to create for themselves.

The music's nice, though.

I am kind of obssessed with Teleportation to Gliese12b, so very much looking forward to this.

The FSOL (Yage) remix of In The Sky Above on Mind Maps 5 was good as well.  I'd forgotten about that.
