Guest Archrival
I think that the next album will have singing. They have stated in recent reviews that the next album will be a shock for everyone, so what can be more "shocking" than vocals on a BOC album.. I think the hints are there too, I mean who would have thought that BOC would remix Beck??? I think the two tracks that BOC have made with vocals are EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Cloudead track is brilliant and Dose One and Whys? voices really fits BOCs beats. Also the Broken Drum track is really one of the best BOC tracks EVER in my humble opinion. So what do you guys think? Will the next album have vocals? To be honest I really hope so and I think it would be a good and natural step for their career..imagine tracks in the same vein as Broken Drum! that album would be a classic like all the other records and a nice new step for them. Im also looking forward to their solo records and that soundtrack that they talked about that was maybe going to happen.. So if this vocal thing will be reality...what vocalists would you like to have on the album? just make your dream lineup. I would love to have Liz Fraser on some tracks, why not Sigur Ros singer...Beck, ClouDEAD, Thom Yorke....hmmmm anyone else? maybe the brothers themselves can sing too, who knows :) Edited July 13, 2006 by Archrival Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/10681-boc-and-vocals/ Share on other sites

Morpheus
What interview was that? I would be curious to find out what else they said. As for the singing, if they do it, I would prefer they would keep it to a minumum, but some would be alright. Just as long as they're not the focus of each track. Maybe the about the same amount as Caribou or Black Moth Super Rainbow uses. I would hate to see a BOC track ruined by the whining of Thom Yorke though. Guest felttipen
if they put vocals on their music it would be the worst thing they had ever done. their music is supposed to sound personal to the listener, vocals would shit sperm all over that. Alzado
it would be pretty cliche to put vocals in their tracks. that's what all electronic music producers do when they run out of ideas. See: chemical brothers, air, crystal method, fatboy slim, moby etc. no vocals dammit Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Alzado's signature Hide all signatures RIP Farm Eagle Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/10681-boc-and-vocals/#findComment-217661 Share on other sites
Guest the accursed share
i heard richard ashcroft practically lives on marcus eion's sidewalk, occasionaly manoeuvring his mouth into the front door's letterbox hoping to score some cock. Guest Gardenia
I wouldn't rule vocals out of the question. I have that article where they said that nobody will expect their next album to sound like it does. I was thinking it would either be a more rock-oriented album, or possibly one with vocals. Guest green_calx
Does anyone have the link to that interview? also, what if there were no keyboards? or an orchestra? or maybe a house album? It could be anything. I'm psyched already. EDIT: They are influenced by My Bloody Valentine, so what if they used only guitar, bass, and drums? Guest Archrival
I mean they could do it in a MBV way, where the vocals are pretty low in the mix and you cant even hear the lyrics (Or sigur ros untitled album, where its no lyrics just made up words)...They already used vocals on 1969, that live track and In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country..I hope for some singing on the next one.. Guest thedisavowed
Well, they're also pretty influenced by ISB, right? Maybe they'll go in a more folkish/hippie direction. Campfire and especially the Broken Drum mix definitely hint in that direction. I'm not saying they'll start singing or anything. Or maybe it'll be more texture than lyrics, like MBV. Or maybe it'll be like a death metal polka record. I have no idea.
