I love the recording quality. It's just lo-fi enough.

It sounds like a good start to something nice. Possibly more rhythm section, layers, etc. Some lyrics might not be a bad idea.

If it were me I would take the key line and run it through a couple of compressors with the first down low with effect and the other up high with some distortion and make use of teh pan and some but not much reverb...

IRAIL: don't like the melody/chords, like the rhythm sounds - strange @ 1:16 i was expecting the opposite and it's very very low, loo low i think. doesn't sound like finished.
