ten fingers ten toes
$1800? Are you fucking serious? Look, I could buy a Doepfer A-100 modular and still have cash left over for lunch for $1800. I could buy a Nord Modular G2. I could buy 9 used Nord Micro Modulars, or two used Nord Modular Rack's. You could buy 4 PAiA 9700 modular kits! Or pay up front for a Synthesizers.com 5U Modular system. You could buy.. err, over 10 PAiA Fatmans (Fatmen?), Or how about 2 Kawai K5000s' and a Nord Modular? $1800 fucking dollars for a drum machine? Please. Either Analogue Heaven has a nasty typo, or people have suddenly become retarded. I bet it sounds really great, but not even $500 great let alone $1800. It's a drum machine people. You may have noticed that anything with an oscillator can make ok drum sounds. My god, you load your samples via MIDI. MIDI. No, Im serious, you convert .wav to MIDI and then use a sysex dump to put samples onto it. $1800 fucking dollars and no fucking USB? Not even a fucking disk drive? I'm actually offended that someone would charge this much for something of such limited use. It's just a scandalous ripoff. Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide ten fingers ten toes's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/10955-attn-analogue-drum-fans/#findComment-222667 Share on other sites

Guest version2006
yeah...but the XBase 999 has a 2 line lcd screen! and it's portable! Where in the world are you going to find that functionality in a drum machine? Guest csl
Looks cool, but when you have something like the Machine Drum offering so much more flexibility/versatility, those 9 drums had better sound incredible. I shudder to think how much that'll be in £, but then again, the Machine Drum isn't exactly cheap. Guest Glutonious Monk
man imagine the cost if it had usb... the reason why this type of equipment is so expensive is that they have a limited market. and since the samples have such a small weight why would you want a usb for? sysex dumping is easy and fast with small drum samples. i do not work for jomox. Guest csl
You could also use something like Sound Forge for piss easy MIDI sample dumping. If it goes down to ~£600, then I'd be more interested. A grand is a little too much, I feel.
