Guest version2006
I need a new component to get my CS-50 working... I think it's a diode, not sure. need a new one anyway. The orange one. It stands about an inch high. The values are: 4R 8B Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/11033-can-someone-help-me-identify-this-component/ Share on other sites
ten fingers ten toes
It looks more like a transistor to me... Diodes have 2 (or 4) legs, and that looks like a third pin in the middle there, unless Im seeing this wrong because the perspective is odd. Guest version2006
I thought the same thing. Transistors do have three legs. Kind of looks like the one on the left on this page http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/tran.htm the values, though... 4R 8B wtf? ten fingers ten toes
I would email the people that run this site: http://www.cs80.com/ They can probably tell you (as the CS-50 was a scaled down CS-80). They even have a whole page where they repaired a trashed CS-50. Guest Mr. Modular
That's the diodes on the PSU board Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/11033-can-someone-help-me-identify-this-component/#findComment-223008 Share on other sites
Guest version2006
YEah, it's part of the rectifier circuit...an scr diode. part D4 also, attached is the PSU for the cs80. I just need to find a suitable replacement with the correct values. Sahib from psw writes: Quote A little clue. As a rule of thumb 1000uf capacitor value is chosen for 1A current (unless the designer has been very mean and squeezed the hell out of it). So that stands for 2A current. To be on the safe side move up to 3A. Any standard 3A rectifier diode would do. Check 1N540X series. 1N5402G is 3A 200V and it would do your job comfortably. CS-50 will work soon! Guest Mr. Modular
Nice, let us know when you've got it up and running! Give us some vangelis-like stuff :D Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/11033-can-someone-help-me-identify-this-component/#findComment-223105 Share on other sites
