I do beleive that is NI's KORE, which I've only seen in magazines, but it matches up quite nicely to the screenshots in my Sound on Sound.

Actually and interesting little concept there.. kindve like a combinator for any VST plugin you can think of... plus a nifty hardware interface.

it's not Kore.

It is Kontrol:DJ as stated already above.

and Kore only works with the NI suite of instruments - ideally with Komplete 3. It's no use with generic VSTs.

neither they do.

they have some other traktor dj controller out now (wi A&H i think?) - was thinkin o that.

think you're right on the Live - didnt think it was at first, but does look like abe rotary control on strips at bottom and 2 clips over on the column second from left.

As a Universal Sound Platform, KORE operates both as a stand-alone instrument host and as a plug-in in every major sequencer. By integrating all VST- and AudioUnits-based software instruments and effects into a single, unified interface, it provides greatly increased control, overview and ease of use in all creative situations. Both Native Instruments' own range of instruments and effects as well as third-party products are supported. The seamless integration with KORE’s advanced hardware controller gives hands-on control with unprecedented analog feel, finally turning today’s software synthesizers and samplers from applications into true instruments.

pwned.

Also, Kore has an extensive GUI, not just the hardware.

dbl pwned.

Judging on what I read in the article, it sounds worthwhile to play around with. Basically, its like combinator (I think), in that you assign several plugins together in a chain to form a "sound", then you can assign who groups of parameters from different plugins together to one knob for tweaking. You catalog all of these sounds using tags that you assign, like "lush pads" or "anus tearing hardcore bass" or "My god, you've pierced my meniscus leads" or whatever you fancy. Then recall them based on tags rather than having to load up all the plugins at once and yadda yadda...

Anyway, neat concept, I'd love to play with one.

I thought snares only used a tracker and a computer? Did he save up all his earnings for (hardware) gear then?

it is ableton. i can't believe you guys didn't pick that out. i thought you were all apeshit for ableton.

people who use abe regularly would tell you that the screenshot has a very strange configuration of the available panels to such an extent that it doesn't look like ableton in an obvious way. hence the hesitation or confusion. he's done something weird with the layout - it's certainly not default.
