hiphop in 7/8

this is a really rough sketch and i plan to have vocals on this by the time its finished but im curious to see if the beat is confusing or not to the world out there.

wasnt soo sure during the first minute or so but man this is solid. the kick is crazy. it's going to be interesting to see how vocals will work with such a loud kick. great work so far homey.

thanks everyone. yeah that kick is gonna have to get filtered a little harder i think cause its taking up alot of the spectrum. all the drums came from samples of my bike so the snares i make usually end up sounding really click/clap sounding but im trying to embrace that and not resort to using some random snare sample.

glad to hear the peeps dig it. is the beat hiphopy enough even though its 7/8 or does it just sound like im being pretentious and making it 7/8 cause i can?

nice track, the 7/8 is definitely not disturbing, could explore a bit more that interesting time signature. something strange in the mix, the bass might be too loud (or way too loud). and some thing could happen. would you send me separate tracks so i could attempt remixing this? (PM me if so)

could make for a nice melancholic track...the only critiques for my personal taste the bass is far too loud and the bike parts could be bit more prominent...some lovely cliking tones in there.....

really nice, but yeah the kicks a bit ott and not neccesarily hiphopy.

time sig sounds totally natural to me

i think hip hop vocals would totally ruin it personally...unless theyre all heavily soaked in dsp (like say ae's tried by 12 mix)
