Boards of Canada - Alpha Taxonomy (WARP169CD)

Release date: December 4, 2006

Warp Records are delighted to announce the highly-anticipated Boards of Canada box set Alpha Taxonomy, a collection of previously unreleased songs and rarities, commonly circulated online as the 'Old Tunes'. Unwillingly leaked to the web years ago, Mike and Marcus have finally given into the incredible demand for the tracks. They've remastered and re-recorded a colossal 87 tracks, spanning four compact discs, as well as overseeing a gorgeous accompanying 32-page booklet. The lovely resulting package goes well beyond the high expectations the duo's fans have come to hold. Alpha Taxonomy will be available for pre-order from Warpmart in the coming weeks."

"Taxonomy, sometimes alpha taxonomy, is the science of finding, describing and naming organisms, thus giving rise to taxa.

Lilium hybrid "Stargazer"For a long time the term "taxonomy" was unambiguous, but over time the word "taxonomy" gained several other meanings and thus became confusing. To some extent it is being replaced, in its original (and narrow) meaning, by "alpha taxonomy".

Another source of confusion is the relationship to systematics. The words "taxonomy" and "systematics" have a similar history and similar meanings: over time these have been used as synonyms, as overlapping or as completely complementary."

look i told all the fags why dont you wait instead of dl other people fakes. they said there would be a box set and here it is. most of you dont deserve it.

AFOT, OT1 and OT2 together are like 106 tracks... and we got some doubles on the cassettes.. and they'll release like 87 tracks.. so that'll be like almost 100% official release..

but that would also mean they won't be releasing the really old unknown stuff imho (acid memories, play by numbers, ...)

but this is just a loose assumption...

frigginly awesome kekekekekkekeeeeeee kekekekekekkekekekekeeee

I really hope this is true. There has been so much bullshit on this forum lately.

Crossing my fingers....

The Hexagon Sun dude did say that they were planning to do this in here last year...

Funny, the new Tortoise "unreleased retrospective boxset" is called The Lazrus Taxon. This better be for real! If so, it will be a great pre-Christmas present (to myself  )

faek until proven otherwise.
