My portable studio is complete

Recommended Posts

so, my ideal portable studio setup is complete with my recent acquisition of an RME Fireface400 and Arturia's most fucking excellent Analog Factory bundle.

plus all the usual mountains of vsts and other shit accrued over the past 4 or 5 years.

happiness is a pile of empty NFR boxes and ill-gotten hardware packaging.

I forgot about analog factory. Seems like a good deal if you need good sounds and dont worry about editing the actual synths. But it has a more accurate response to playing than using samples. I really need to buy a non-freeware synth. I just havn't had one draw me in yet. But I want it editable and be able to do a ton of stuff.

nice, did you buy that analog factory or download it? -note: i'm just wondering

neither, the good chaps at Arturia (or rather their UK distributors) sent me it for nowt.

which was nice of them.

it will be a while before you see a cracked version perhaps, as it comes with a USB dongle and loads of anti piracy crap. It is however, quite amazingly good to have 2000 sounds all of which are tweakable, in one slick VST.

very nice ism...

how do you like the novation remote? ...looking to upgrade from the omnipresent oxygen8 rather soon.

simply outstanding. the Automap technology is a genuine move forward with midi controllers. one of those developments that renders the rest obsolete. not having to remap the controls every time you click on another vst effect or instrument in Live is frankly fucking great.

you've sold me man. i've heard a lot about automapping, but have never used an auto controller. how would you describe the process? is it intuitive?

my only concern is that i'd want to customize the controls so much that it would eventually defeat the automapping.
