When will the next release be?

Do you think ae will stick to their schedule of the past few years and have a new album on the table for April 2007?

I fucking hope so. At least an EP anyway. I want to hear what they're up to at the moment, following Untilted will be difficult.

But some of the new stuff we've been hearing live is great. I think they've got it in them...

Yeah man, true say. I dunno. It just seems impossible to imagine whhat the next album or EP would be like.

I can't see it following the live sound so much as they've never really sounded like the albums live have they?

I dunno, Autechre have been consistent all through their career so I have faith.

Their genius is unprecendented.

They're going to do an acoustic folk rock album. With Ashlee Simpson.

I agree on both counts....

I can honestly say that I love every album they have done. It has taken me a while to get 'into' a few of them, Untilted being one of them that took me about 8 months but now I love it.

Anyway the next album will be a live album :wink2:

Strange, I found Draft and Untilted the easiest to get into. I'm still struggling with Amber and Tri Rep though, I love some tracks and the others I'm slowly liking more and more. Like all of the sudden I enjoy Rsdio, I didn't really like it before.

I dunno, I think I just love the complexity and structure of the later releases.

Amber is probably my 2nd favorite album!! I love old school ae best, each to there own and all that.

Maybe is it because their repetitiveness??? I have never enjoyed enjoyed Amber as much as Draft 7.30, anyway...

Well, it's April 2007 and still no album on the horizon. Barring some sort of miracle, I don't think we're getting any new Autechre this month.

I've always hoped that if they didn't plan on unveiling any new material for a while, that they'd at least release a compilation of their remix work ala 26 Mixes or Parts in the Post. Probably wishful thinking though.

A 26 mixes type compilation would be cool, because I have hardly any of their mixes of other artists. I definately read an interview where I think Sean acknowledged and supported the whole bootleg trading live show deal. He said that they had a few soundboards of the recent tour and were considering releasing a live album. In general he said though, they never record their live performances. That stuff is mostly left up to the fans.

How hard is it to compile an hour+ of Autechre quality music? Very hard.

Listen to the production values on Confield and Draft. I will freak out if we get production values that good. Plus, if you listen to the live performances, they continue to evolve, they want to give the best quality product.

I will also personally freak out if Autechre doesnt officially release some of the recent live material. It would be a crime against humanity. We shall see, we shall see.

Yea the new live stuff is super amazing. However, I still saying nothing will ever top confield. Well maybe something will,,,

I am reading a Sean Booth interview on the elektron website and he confirms that ae are in the studio fine tuning parts of their live set. I assume that he means for release.

Why do people want them to release a live album when Orlando Campus Internet Overlord Alex Pallas released their latest live stuff a year ago?

Agreed. Having said that though, a soundboard recording of MCR Quarter and that'd be me satisfied with music in general for the next......well, forever.

Autechre's live material doesn't impress me that much... Sounds like repetitive beats, nothing else.

It's be great to get an audio/visual experience for the new album like a double cd featuring images for the tracks or live performances similar to what Plaid did with Greedy Baby...

For the new album I'd like to hear a more mellow/melodic outing I think, Untilted was amazing production-wise but I have to be in the mood to listen to it and that's a rarity to be honest.
