new Tendrils of Emptiness track.. .

"Walking a dark path only lit with hallucinations" is the track name.. . it was actually started and allmost finished over a year ago.. . I left it for awhile and then about 6 months later I tried to do a remix of it hoping to resurrect it.. . that failed.. . and then about a week ago I managed to work both the original and the remix into a final working construct Im happy enough to put out for the sake of nostalgia if nothing else. ..

heres hoping its not the final nail in the coffin. ..

you might also want to rename the file to tToE or the Tendrils of Emptiness once you save it.. . since zebox rewrites the file name with your login name (the bastards!)

and yes I realise I dont frequent the ekt boards often or critique tracks.. . so if you dont feel like listening thats fine.. . maybe some of the old schoolers will be interested.. . maybe not. ..

I liked it, especially the rubbery bit from around 3:12 on. Actually I reckon you could probably make a track out of that alone. Snare was a leeedle bit loud in the mix, but that's all I can really critique.

I don't mind that you aren't frequent here. More people should do stuff in this forum. I'm considering swearing off the GB. Maybe. But that's like prohibition. I miss the prohibition... who was that lady who broke all the liquor bottles with a little hatchet?

don't like the chord progression. production is simple but nice. 1:15 heavily reminds of plaid (spokes). there is not enough happening in the intro imo, maybe add some weird sounds, with panning and stuff to keep the listener awake (not what i wanted to say but couldn't find a better word)

track 2.

reminds of plaid too. i like this one way more. seems better constructed, like you know better where you're going. i wouldn't mind the chord sequence to change a bit tho ;) nice bass @ 3:17, could be fatter, and the drums crispier. don't know what to suggest to make the track better, i think the sound could be better, but composition-wise i don't have much to reproach. maybe the transition @ 1:20 could be better... lovely synth & reversed @ 2:00. lol my critique could be way better! it's not constructed! bah it's early morning! ;)

yeah I got that feeling too.. . basically my problem was that the original track work I had left wasnt the same as the wav render I had sitting on my HD and I couldnt reproduce those exact results.. . therefore I had to make do with the mix I had semi completed over a year ago.. . either that or the track wouldnt be completed at all.. . if it ever gets mastered for a cd or something I may be able to find a way to reduce the snare somewhat. ..

yeah that first track is pretty old.. . and not a complete "sucess" in my eyes either.. . its only up there as its the next most recent finished bit of work. ..

thanks for listening.. . I do like plaid (spokes in particular) but wouldnt have thought their influence to have penetrated that much.. . cant really be a bad thing though can it?
