windowlicker & FM7

I was wondering if anyone can get close to that plucky synth in windowlicker with fm7. Im pretty sure its an FM patch. Ive been trying. Not much luck so far. Sounds doubled up.

Its the part that sounds like a guitar pluck. Not the bass. There are two plucky sounds. A higher guitary kinda pluck sound and the bass synth. I could copy the sound, but no one is going to give a shit.

Greab a cheap Yamaha TX7 and go for t3h real thang. FM rules

I think he processed the track in Metasynth for the cut up parts.. That metasynth thing is overblown.

TX7 have a horrible interface.

i dunno. there's music made entirely with metasynth... drums, synths, ... it's not just for making noise with hidden images, it's just that hidden images = noise

i was thinking that might be what gives it its unique character.

I dont know what your talking about but if you posted a short clip I would listen to it. Otherwise Im probably not going to bother.

Since you REALLY don't care, here it is. Not mind blowing, but I thought maybe it could be done in FM7. Maybe metasynth too. I haven't had a mac in years though and it sounds like standard FM. (Obvious observation; it is not the growling voice)

Magoo, try a filter envelope with no attack and a low sustain, then fiddle with the decay time to get the right level of "pluck" for any sound

Ohh... Okay that sound. Sounds sort of keyboardy to me. It could be an FM patch, Ill try to see if I can find a close match. I dont have FM7 but Ill try anyways.

It sounds like two distinct sounds. The attack portion with is percussive and the synth portion which sounds like the string.

Maybe some kind of Vector Synthesis? They usually tend to be too warm, but the TG-33 can do that.

Yeah, thats possible.

Yes, there could be separate envelopes on parts of the oscillator mixer but It sounds pretty simple at the same time that Im im not really sure I can tell.
