goonstock
Dimotane Co Quote This medicine contains three active ingredients, codeine phosphate, brompheniramine maleate and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. Codeine phosphate belongs to a group of medicines called the opioids. It is used to suppress dry or painful cough. Coughing is a reflex reponse to irritation of the airways. It is useful for clearing mucus, dust and other particles from the throat and lungs. It is important because it reduces the amount of mucus, dust and bacteria in the airways that would otherwise make breathing difficult. Sometimes, coughing can become overstimulated even when there is no mucus to clear from the lungs or throat. In this situation coughing serves no purpose and can become painful and frustrating. Codeine is used to block the cough reflex in situations where the cough serves no purpose. It does so by calming the part of the brain that governs the coughing reflex. Brompheniramine is a sedating antihistamine which acts on histamine H1 receptors. H1 receptors are found in various body tissues, particularly the small blood vessels in the skin, nose and eyes. Histamine is a chemical that is released in response to allergic or inflammatory stimuli. It causes widening of the blood vessels, resulting in reddening and swelling of the tissues and swelling and increased mucus production from the lining of the nose. There is also irritation that causes sneezing and often redness and watering of the eyes. Antihistamines block the action of histamine, preventing dilatation of blood vessels, reducing redness and swelling. Antihistamines pass from the blood into the brain, producing general sedation and depression of other brain functions, including the vomiting and coughing mechanisms. Pseudoephedrine belongs to a group of medicines known as sympathomimetics. It acts by stimulating alpha adrenergic receptors. In the lining of the nose and sinuses, pseudoephedrine acts on receptors in the muscles of the blood vessel walls, causing them to contract. This results in a narrowing of the blood vessels and, therefore, decreased blood flow to the lining of the nose and sinuses. By decreasing blood flow, fluid congestion in the nose and sinuses is reduced. The combination of codeine with pseudoephedrine and brompheniramine is used to relieve the symptoms of colds and flu, such as nasal congestion, cough and runny nose, where these are associated with a dry cough. What is it used for? # Coughs and colds Warning! # This medicine may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery. Alcohol should be avoided. # If symptoms persist despite treatment, seek medical advice from your doctor or pharmacist. # Tolerance and dependence may occur to this medicine. Tolerance means that less effect is achieved from the same dose. Dependence means that individuals find it very difficult to stop using the medicine. # Children taking this product should not be left unattended for long periods. goonstock
NUX VOMICA_ The Strychnine tree (Strychnos nux-vomica) also known as Nux vomica, is an evergreen tree native to southeast Asia, a member of family Loganiaceae. It grows in open habitats, usually attaining a size about 25 meters tall. It is a major source of the highly poisonous alkaloid strychnine, derived from the seeds inside the tree's round, green to orange fruit. However, the tree's bark also contains poisonous compounds, including brucine. In homeopathy, Nux-v. — as it is commonly abbreviated — is one of the most commonly prescribed remedies. Guest Dr. Elemeno von Hat X: PhD
from wikipedia: Quote here is a common but wrong urban legend that strychnine is added to drugs like LSD or that strychnine is present in the peyote cactus. The dose of LSD is so small that it could not be mixed with a toxic amount of strychnine, even if strychnine made up an entire blotter square. See: Strychnine in LSD? phudoshin
"my fucking sound"........cos it is isn't it? "the exploding psychology"... the melody in this is sort of melencholic, dreamlike .... possibly squeezed from a mind gripped in overwhleming thoughts. hence the title. "beep street".. defintiley a track form playing while driving down a long street. "ultravisitor".... so stretched out an awash with spacey cosmic sounds....not of this world....alien. "i wish you could talk" very odd title but the sounds are again very poignant and dreamy so this plee for communication sortof fits in an odd way. I like Squarepushers poetic naming of tracks and his acknowledgemnet that they do hold very emotional trains of thought . goonstock
WINDSCALE 2 Windscale Nuclear Incident Summary In 1957, the graphite moderator of one of the air-cooled plutonium production reactors at Windscale (now Sellafield), had a fire which resulted in the first significant release of radioactive material from a reactor. The reactor served a second purpose at the time - production of Po-210 (polonium) from bismuth. Po-210 was also released. These gas cooled reactors were operated by the British government at the time. The map of England and Scotland below shows Sellafield in the center. logboy
here's one i spotted the day i bought the cd, when it first came out... the squarepusher min-album / e.p 'big loada' refers to this 'thomas the tank engine' toy called the 'big loader' : http://cgi.ebay.com/TOMY-THOMAS-THE-TANK-E...9QQcmdZViewItem it used to advertised on TV, gives a hint at a conspiracy - that other people were involved in the record besides just tom jenkinson. good hey?
