It's done, I just posted it because some of you wanted to hear more from the band, and here it is!

I don't think I'll post any more until the album is finished.

Also here's another one:

Second focus (5799936 bytes).

Made with acoustic guitar, bass, and a yamaha portasound. Nothing else, no clicktrack. Pretty similar to Single line dawn, maybe this will replace it on the ep.

Thanks for listening, but can you be more specific (re: guitar ruining the track)?

I know the track is a little misleading at first, I didn't mean for it to sound so "electronic music" but it just turned out that way.

what i love about it: it's raw, menacing, and melodic. very powerful and overtaking, which is what i look for in a lot of music. the peak of this track is fantastic.

what i don't: takes a while to get to the point, and when it does, it seems like the introduction doesn't even matter. it's just a quick rise to the peak, in my head, it seems like there could be another way to reach that place..., additionally i hear room for a little bit more going on.

anyway, bands/collaborations are fun with the right people. i am involved in several projects/bands, but all with the same people, pretty much. it's good to culture yourself with all styles and avenues of music/art/etc. it's good to see...

track1:

off-key guitar is cool but if you don't produce it really well then it just sounds like you forgot to tune it, or you have really slippery fingers.

i dunno... everything here would be pretty cool if produced well enough but it has an amateurish edge that ruins the track for me.

well yeah, i agree but i have really limited equipment here, also this is my first time producing 'post-rock' or whatever so go easy!

Thanks!

It started as an intro track, so that could explain the lack of substance. But I've been working on it for a year or more, so I really don't want to attempt any more modifications, apart from the obvious live arrangement.

Yeah, it's great to be in a band, we're off to a slow start, but it's really awesome. So far all of the writing and performance has been me, but that's just because this ep/album has been in my head for a long time and want to make it exactly the way I imagine it. For future efforts though, I'm hoping the other members will contribute.

first track on here was the first, and probally one of the only times I will make post-rock. My freind on the drums sucked ass, and every other part, of any other song he did, he would fuck it up, so we ended this band project. This is 2 tracks of improv layed on top of eachtoher. (food made us better)

Interesting, some nice melodic ideas in there, but yes, the drums do destroy it. Too cymbal heavy and too much variation (but I can't complain about the variation, I'm bad with that one too on drums hehe).

I just listened to Mercury... and I likes it. The distorted bit works really well, usaully when I hear that kinda thing it just sounds bad but in this case it added power and emotion to that section of the song.
