What about Bibio in the LL Bean commercial? Goes well I think . . . I hate this whole "my favorite band is selling out" attitude that comes about any time an artist bothers to make any money at all from their music. Gimme a break.

i am guessing they don't have much say in where their music is being played..and as long as they get their royalties i don't think they care...

I wonder how much they actually made from that.

the csi thing will either be on license, if so a lotg of money, or on blanket license from ascap, if so pennies.

the bbc thing is a bit of a long running joke with prs members... the fee for a play was agreed in the 70's and hasn't gone up since. prs are currently tryting to change that. so sweeties for that too.

and no, they don't have any choice.... people just apply to the mcps, or appropriate publisher.

a hexagon sun person mentioned before on the yahoogroup that warp license out music in big chunks. so pennies, i'm guessing. i've heard saw2 and boc used in LOOOOADS of documentaries, for example(s).

exactly, "lol newb" as in... there's like a hundred threads about WARP artist music found in various ads, TV shows, documentaries, etc... It's pretty much normal nowadays. You don't see anymore "OMG []pusher on Top Gear!" threads.

cool ad (with blair morphing into brown), though a darker boc track might have been the ticket here.

going OT slightly, a few weeks back several tracks from the campfire headphase featured in a single edition of restoration on bbc2.

pretty sure i have heard loads of tch ep/lp usage in ads and progs elsewhere recently, too.

Seriously CSI is some sort of fantasy world of cops investigation. The banther they say sometimes is totally hilarious

my roommate has watched csi for the past two years ... i've heard ulrich schnauss, interpol, modeselektor, etc etc, so it's more just that the music producer of the show has good taste in music

i've watched CSI las vegas a decent bit...

some guys i used to talk to, teargas & plateglass (on waxploitation) got their stuff on CSI...
