you need to open up all the routing for the track (one of the buttons far right by the master volume). The it'll show you what is being recorded from where etc etc. You should be able to select the right one from there.

how many physical inputs to your soundcard?

if its just a stereo in youll only be able to record two tracks (L+R or 2xmono)

also check to make sure that your not sending any other tracks to the record track

soundcard has line in and mic in... i use the line in

and how to i check if im sending anyother tracks to the record track?

i just sussed it it was such a spazzy thign as well...

one track 1 and one track 2

i had it on either 1/2 or 1 and 1 now its 1 2 hurrah

open up sounds and audio devices in your control panal... go to the audio tab and click volume under sound recording. make sure microphone is selected and not WAVE or "What U Hear".

cool....

i noticed youve got your soundcard set to MME/directx, switch to asio if you have it, better latency

if youve not got asio drivers try asio4all

ive got a realtek onboard sound card in my laptop and i can get <5ms

]

i installed asio4all but what does it do?

It gives you better latency on not-so-great soundcards.
