Guest Kazuo
It consists of three main parts... a 120bpm jazzy melodic part, a 240bpm-drill part and a 170bpm-drumnbass thingy in the end with a faster reprise of the main melody. i know its a lot of different stuff for one song but it just seemed good to me . let me know what you think of it. Guest taxman
i liked the first section the synth is a little cheesy though i really like the sparse parts with just the piano, drums, and bass Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/13367-overcrowded-jazz-drill-drumnbass-song/#findComment-268073 Share on other sites
Jaffa
Me too, I like it alot more when its just using simplistic drums and bass with that piano organ instrument, really nice mood, I like what your doing with that whiny vibert sounding lead but after a while I was sort of wishing it would go away, less fond of the faster parts but overall good effort Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Jaffa's signature Hide all signatures https://thejaffakid1.bandcamp.com/ Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/13367-overcrowded-jazz-drill-drumnbass-song/#findComment-268104 Share on other sites
Guest Kazuo
thx yeah first i had just this hi-pass portamento synth, sounding similar to hanningfield window but then i felt it was a bit annoying with the continuously loud high freqs so i added a modulated lowpass on top to make it a bit more decent... but im glad you like the melodies cause they were the main idea of the song. Zephyr_Nova
Yeah, this is great! The synths are cheesy in a good way. I wouldn't change them. The melodic progressions and modulations are really nicely done. Drums get really cool around half-way through. The bass has a very satisfying BOOM to it. Onto the tempo change section. Fun stuff. Nice ending. Guest Promo
Interesting. Yeah this was pretty reasonable but I'd probably need to listen to it a few times. I can hear some very Herbie Hancockesque synths in here which I think are very fresh. Mmm nice pace of change - could see that moving a few folks on the dancefloor. Musically don't know if it totally floated my boat but the general direction of it. Squee
I loved the change into the drum'n'bass part and everything from there on. The melodies were a bit cheesy and they didn't really catch my attention - I think the problem might have been the repetitiveness of the melody. Guest Kazuo
yeah the dnb part could use a bit more variation. thx for your reviews! now i need some stupid song title :D Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/13367-overcrowded-jazz-drill-drumnbass-song/#findComment-268636 Share on other sites
goffer
i liked it quite a bit but i'm with the majority about the whiney cheese. I love the last forth... got a little rush from it, but it got a little repetitive.
