Ambient DS

I'm really proud of this song, it has a weird sound to it.

This is sort of a rough cut, but I want to see how you guys like it before I work on it more.

I used the start up noise of a nintendo DS and messed around with it plenty to make something worth at least one listen. Honest.

I have no idea how the DS start up tune is, so I won't be able to make a judgement from that, but I can tell you that the track needs some more variation and perhaps more layers. Perhaps some sort of gliding ambient tones that should be barely noticable.

The melodies were alright, but I still think it needs more variation, and try fucking around with the beat some more.

Yeah, I intend on editing it a little more, and doing more with the song, I'm just want to know if it's worth it at this point though.

No sense in wasting time on it if no one likes it. Thanks for the comments though.

Nice idea... I'll give this a listen when I've finished my vodka, fajita and My Bloody Valentine session. I love the DS though, I got mine a couple of weeks ago and it's my new best friend. Have you tried Electroplankton? It's such good fun if you're interested in the electronic music musics, I might incorporate it into my next gig (yes I have a next gig!)

You shouldn't give up on it, but I think it's rather daring to use that sample to make a melody out of. It's a nice sound, but I'd use it as an ambient pad instead. Pitch it to hell and add tons of reverb and delay and make a chilled track instead - but that's just me.
