Fun things to do with an Aphex song

list some fun shit to do with an Aphex song.

:Play it backwards (sounds like a completely different yet similar song when played backwards)

:Speed it up/Slow it down (some sound way better by doing this)

:Raise/Lower the pitch (just sounds funny)

:Put an echo on it in Audacity (cool because it gives a very weird effect. i tried it with Arched Maid and it made it sound spacey)

Ah...

- play on a mixer with VU meter LEDs and watch them flicker prettily

- play with knobs while screwing around with running it through a delay. on drugs.

run it through metasynth or something that turns sound into images

try maybe listening to the tracks, it took me a while to figure that out

Yeah, I got the idea when Richard said in an interview somewhere that Come to Daddy was mocking death metal. Pissed about with my sampler for a bit and realised that he wasn't kidding when he said that. I was going to post about it ages ago but I thought everyone would have known about it already like "OMGzzes jazz band".

Yeah, shit, it sounds really cool backwards. alot like aphex's early brainfuck material

Flim is pretty damn good backwards. I'll have to try this with more tracks.

Oh yeah, also shift the right channel like 0.2 second ahead of the left... I saw a thread about that ages ago, it sounds pretty cool on some things actually.

Have you tried playing Ventolin (Carharrack Mix) backwards? It sounds alot like something by BoC but harsher.

I reversed "Flim" last night, and it's right on par with the original! I love it... /relax
