mcbpete
I tell you owt for nowt, Reaper is a bloody good free (free damn you) equivalent of Soundforge, check out the screenshots which shows how much oomph is in there for 0 pennies : http://www.reaper.fm/feat-ss.php (it does have 1 screen that says hey man this be shareware, but it doesn't EVER expire and the screen goes when you click 'close' you don't have to wait for a countdown to count to zero or nuffink) And it does look/work very similar to Soundforge, and we've used it to stick the new cubus album together as well (which is very nearly done now). PLUS PLUS the installer is 1.5Mb, I mean what can you get for that nowadays Edited October 23, 2006 by mcbpete Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily. Guest getting photons
EAC and the Lame encoder is free and the industry standard for quality Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/13824-where-can-i-find-soundforge-60/#findComment-285198 Share on other sites
mcbpete
Quote EAC and the Lame encoder is free and the industry standard for quality certainly, and WinLAME ( http://winlame.sourceforge.net/ ) is a nice simple windows front end for the file conversion process. Bubba69
I suckered up and payed for dbpoweramp. Pretty fucking convenient and useful tool I would say. WOrks pretty slickly and its not a huge wallet dent of nothing. mcbpete
It's well good. We've used it to string our latest album together [which PLUG PLUG should be here well well soon). We're using it mainly for post production of the tracks, and mixing everything together rather that completely straight music production but it's entirely user friendly, and just simply works as it should. As yet, no annoying niggles that you get with trying new software out. One of the main benefits of it having an installer of only 1.5Mb (which expands to around 3-ish Mb) is that it flies like a fookin' rocket, you wait for virtually nothing to load or process.
