noise removal / filtering

recently got into field recording, ive got decent mics but theres still a small amount of self noise and i need some vst's/plugins/software to clean it all up a bit, any recommendations guys?

Maybe a high-cut could fix it. It works for me without making it sound too dull.

samplitude and audition i know have plugins where you can select a bit of the noise and use it as a signature and then filter that signature out of the rest of the material. though artifacts arise so it's best to just reduce the noise by like 12 db or something instead of losing it all together.
