YEK
so i used to be a reason user, still am kinda, but i'm wandering , trying to find greener pastures. there's some things about reason that i don't like. i'm looking for a vst instrument that is similar to the subtractor, subtractive synthesis,. i want to be able to make just as much varied sounds on it as the subtractor. hopefully one that has an intuitive interface i don't want some cpu hungry , more complicated than it needs to be- synth so yeah, what do you guys reckon i should look into. hopefully something i can get my hands on easily ie not pay i want to make a smooth transition from reason into, at this moment , probably fruity THANKYOU :phone: :phone: :phone: Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide YEK's signature Hide all signatures Reveal hidden contents !:/music Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/1470-subtractor-vsti/ Share on other sites

Guest Keef Baker
My favourive subtractive synth is the Arturia MinimoogV. But that costs money. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/1470-subtractor-vsti/#findComment-28034 Share on other sites

Guest ezeh
it´s hardware actually but you cant get a vst for it. if you want some simple controls and straight-ahead substractive synthesis - my favourite one is the Korg Polysix VST. very nice sound. also you can check RGC Audio Pentagon, pretty powerful vst, it cost some bucks but you can get the RGC Audio Triangle, monophonic but free to get an idea. http://www.rgcaudio.com/products.htm Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/1470-subtractor-vsti/#findComment-28109 Share on other sites

Guest Keef Baker
~ism said: yekker said: that's hardware right?> nope. As ~ism said.. There is a hardware version of it called the K-Station. The V-Station is a VST instument. And no, you don't need a K-Station to run it. ~ism said: all the other novation 'stations' were but not v. v for virtual, eh? There is a software version of the Basstation too. Quote software only. Well, it's the software version of the K-Station. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/1470-subtractor-vsti/#findComment-28119 Share on other sites

Alzado
Yekker, I HIGHLY recommend the Novation V-Station. as a reason user, i was also looking for a comparable synth for my non-reason projects. i found the V-Station and now it's my work-horse synth. i use it in pretty much every track. it's capable of deep basses, great leads, and slippery pads, just like the subtractor. and the sound quality is better, imo. get it. Guest Iain C
I've got a K-station... I guess as it's VA, it's practically the same as the V-station... I love it. Some great sounds lurking within that beast Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/1470-subtractor-vsti/#findComment-28377 Share on other sites

Bubba69
Guess Ill post some of my favorite free synths. Minimougue Lexus PolyIblit Xhip Synth Purple (scroll down) Maestro (Kind of dirty, not for everyone) Augur ASynth I guess it is just that I have learned to focus more on these synths than any others, but they are for the most part great. I may have left a couple out. Paulie Walnuts
I really like Sutractor... I wish there were more softsynths like that, it can do futuristic sounding leads and pads like nothing else - and the sound quality's not too clean or too dense either (my usual problems)... Only way I've found to use it is to load Reason up and trigger it from another sequencer (like Renoise) with MIDI Yoke...
