Sam White - No Currency

yeah, this is my first acid track, using 303 emulator, and a shitload of drum machine samples. (505, 606, 707, 808, are all used) This is all done on Fruity Loops, in about 10 minutes, I thought it was fun, it has some decent moments.

it's not supposed to be. TS-404 is actually quite a good soft synth if you fuck about with it enough. There's loads of proper TB-303 emulators though - get the Phoscyon or AudioRealism Bassline Pro. Or (if you don't wish to pay money or get pirated software) there are a load of free TB-303 emulators too (but they're not as good), the best free one's probably the one you get with Jeskola Buzz, but I can't remember what it's called.

10 mins? Mmm well I figured this was either gonna be really good or really shit. I have to say its definitely in the later part. Mmm this sounds pretty amateur I'd say. Some nice sounds in the track but it sounds very amateur. Same notes repeated for 3 mins doesn't make a track. And then you've got some odd pitch bending towards the end. Mmm this doesn't cut it at all. Beats aren't too bad I guess but musically this is pretty bloody aweful. Doing a track in 10 mins ain't anything to be proud of. Work on your tunesmithery and then your er tracks will become more enjoyable.

why bother using a 505? the 707 sounds better then a 505 fo' real...

The only time I used 505, was the crazysound in the begining, it was the crash and cymbal sound, raped.

Also, I made it in 10 minutes, not to brag or be skilfull, but because I don't really feel like taking the time to plan out a full song, I was just making this shit in boredom between other acts, and experimenting, I'm not going to make my full idea, with a technique I've never used, I'm not going to work on full songs for a while, I'm just learning fruity loops and other technologies mainly at the moment. Also, I made it repetitive, becuase most acid I heard was like that I thought, I was trying to immiate a bunch of drum machines and etc. in real life, like it was being played live, not like a pre-constructed track. I mean it'd take probally 2 people to do it live, but I mean the music was in the tone, more so then the notes, but I like I said, this was all fun experiment.
