Guest Thisket
All I hear are synthesizers. Wrong clip, maybe. But what rhythm you hear sounds like an arpeggiated or sequenced synthesizer noise. If you put any trendily-manipulated vocals over something like this, so help me. Guest taxman
sounds like 2 saw wave synths... one with lots of resonance and an arpeggiator and then the lead. i don't hear any drums at all. I haven't heard the beat you want, but I'm sure it's similar to this.... Guest taxman
you don't actually need an arpeggiator to get that sound. you could just sequence notes to go up and/or down like c-d-f-c-d-f-c-d-f or c-d-f-d-c-d-f-d for example. edit: i think rebirth is the wrong program to be doing that kind of song in. maybe try fruity loops. It's the same - program your kicks and snares etc in the same patterns thay you do in Rebirth - only you don't see a C-4CH01 or whatever every time you put in a note, you just see a little light light up. Instead of vertically programming it in like in a Tracker, it's horizontal....it's easy - you should be able to work it out. As for the arpeggios - it's very rare that you get "arpeggiators" (as a stand alone unit, or piece of software). You get an arpeggiator built into some synths (hardware and software - moogs usually have one), or, if not, you just have to program in the notes yourself. You really need to sit down and work out how everything works and just have a play about with stuff. Also, as a final point, I dunno where you got it from, but Rebirth's not really the way to go these days. If you want the whole rack-mounted feel, you should get Reason. You should be able to get a copy of it somehow..... Anyway, I hope you're a dupe as it looks like you're gonna have real trouble with your music making. Maybe you should just stick to Trackers - try Renoise out - it's VSTi compatible and everything - just as powerful (theoretically) as Ableton or Reason or Fruity Loops. Anyway, you need to sit down and THINK about stuff.
