Guest TEXX
Didn't really give it much of a listen as it sounded extremely weak to me. I'll double check, just to make sure that i'm not mistaken. Cantonese girl: It starts of okay, and then the mood is completely ruined by a horrible, screeching synth, but as soon as it stops the song continues to be okay. The looping sample works, but is kinda noisy and annoying. Yeah, not my thing, but it has some musical merit. A day in the sun: AHHHHHHHHHH! IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A GUITAR? IT SOUNDS FUCKING HORRIBLE! Do you use fruity loops? This sounds like the shitty guitar samples of fruity loops. The piano is "okay" when compared to the guitar-thing, and the melody kind of works, save for some sour notes. It's FL Keys isn't it? Get some better piano vsts, if you can't use a real one. The drums don't work at all, They're too loud and obtrusive, and bring no real rythm to the song. The piano i s the only redeeming element in this track, and it sounds like a poorly played warcraft 2 cover song. KILL THE CHOIR! This is unstable: You're goddamned right it is! The melody sounds sort of okay (the rhodes sound really bad), with the little 3xosc thing backing it up, but on it's own it sounds weak and random. The drums are horrible. The third synth you bring in makes the whole mess live up to it's title. Crap. French Revolution: It sounds nice. I like the guitar thingy, and the drums sound alright - until you bring in a drum pattern with a snare resembling the sound the crew of a sinking submarine would make if they attempted to escape their fate by making really lousy drum patterns. You start in with some synths and some shit, but i can't bother listening to this anymore. Almost not crap. Sinbad: Trippy. The drums are weak, but i actually like the samples enough to continue listening. Flutes. Noise. The same boring drum pattern over and over again. It sounds like some techno version of the chinese water torture. Samples are okay, but you don't do them much honour. Polish sausage: The synts sound like crap, but the melodies are fun. I can actually enjoy this track, if it wasn't for those horrible snare things. Remember my "crew in sinking submarine" comment? It also applies to this track. If you get some decent drums laid down for this track, and use some decent vstis, this could be a okay track. It sounds noisy as fuck, with most of the elements overlapping, but it has potential. Over there: Wow! I can actually get really into the intro. Too bad you fucked everything up by 00:30. A really soothing melody accompanied by some extremely irritating drums. Remove the drums, add some strings and stuff, make it longer, and this would be a pretty ace ambient track. Invasion of my heart: Too loud samples, but otherwise okay, in a pretty boring way. It's one of your better tracks, but it doesen't really know where it wants to go. It really only sounds okay, save for the piano. I feel most of your songs could do with some reverb, and a less frequent use of fruity loops' preset sounds and vsts. Hawaii Love you too: Some nice samples... No, not really. The chirping and creeking sounds ruin the whole mood, and the song sounds muddy. Juice: Piano. K. Drums. Ouch. Synth. KK! Some organ sounds start up. You're too eager to destroy your own songs. Ose: Annoying. Crap. Soul clap: The drums don't sound like utter crap, and the samples are sort of nice. Green Hills: I'm getting tired of this. It has some redeeming qualities, but they are too few for me to even bother with (It's the second synth melody, and that's not saying much). Octopus: The intro made me want to play my old game boy. I actually dug this tune, despite the fruity loops drum samples. Kill the piano. This could have been a ace tune with some mastering. I can dig segments of it, but you destroy your own songs with that avant garde noizecore shit. Truth: Crap. Scratch routine: Bah-bah. Not much. Crap drums. Boring. Clouds and stuff: Yeah, i can dig it. Drums need reverb too! Land safe: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THE HORROR! Yeah, it is pretty weak. I'd never pay to listen to any of these songs, and some i would pay not to listen to. I don't see why you need to share this with the world, as it will be embarrassing as soon as you start making some decent tunes. I wish you the best of luck, and if this stuff actually sells, i hope you make millions on your music, as long as they don't play it on the radio. Cheers! Guest Quosp
Some really nice tracks here (amid some bad ones). I particulary like 'Juice' and 'Octopus'. There is clearly alot of stuff you need to work on though. Some of the samples you use just don't work in the track you put them in, the beats are mostly not very good and the production sounds a bit messy overall. Alot of potential here, but I honestly wouldn't of released this as it is, too many shit tracks and poor production (clipping etc). But I do like the melodies (and the beats in 'Juice' and 'Octopus' are pretty good too). Guest Glass Plate
Guys thanks for the criticism, this album is more of a learning then a making, and I obviously need to learn a lot more, but I just wanted to put out these tracks here what specific details needed work, the fact that the people here purchased coppies proved, that I had to put it out on forums like this to hear what I need to do, the people around where I live, will listen to any thing. I understand most of this criticism I don't appreciate the dickish tones some times, but it's ok. I'm only 16 and have lots of time to learn.
