ten fingers ten toes
http://www.synthesizers.com/system-entry1.html So it won't be until month 5 that I have an Oscillator and I'm already salivating for it (I can at least run that Osc through my Micro-Modular and use its filters and envelopes until I get the rest of the kit). I'm so fucking psyched for this is unbeleivable. Im already trying to pick out stain that will match my desk to stain the case in. It's hillarious, because I PMd version2006 the other day asking him if he ever got a modular system, and which one he ended up going with since I was going to be doing this at some point this year. Best Christmas Gift Ever. ten fingers ten toes
Sweet! I have a Kawai K5000s addative synth, which has little to do with the 100m, but I can at least say they build a damn tank! Knobs and keys are wicked solid. Guest Glass Plate
I could actually do this with my paychecks, but I don't know shit about modulars =/, I mean I have an idea of it, but I don't have a full grip, and I have much more important things needed for my studio atm. Guest analogue wings
Sheeit. You don't even get an LFO. Modulars are just a life-wrecking addiction waiting to happen. Modulars are just a life-wrecking addiction waiting to happen. That's half the fun! Ive spent the last few days pouring over synthesizers.com deciding on what to add. I think I want the Oscillator Aid as well, definately the S&H... You know by the end of the year, the entire north wall of my studio will be modules top to bottom. Glass Plate.. if you want to get a good idea about modulars, download this little tool for free: http://www.clavia.se/products/nordmodular/demo.htm Its limited to one voice, will eat up a ton of your CPU, and not all of the modules work, but that will cover all of the basic concepts (including things that neither of us would ever be able to afford with real modules). Really I decided I absolutely wanted a hardware modular after spending so many years enamored with my Nord Micro Modular. Which is sortve curious, since, technically, my micro modular can apss for easily $150,000 worth of modules at the same time. Nothing like the feel of patch cables I suppose! ten fingers ten toes
actually, urr, the Q106 Oscillators double as LFO's (a nice "LOW" setting on the frequency range dials. Which is kinda cool actually, since alot of times you don't really need an LFO, especially for short bass stabs and such. Now, about that filter bank..... Guest iep
check out BRIDECHAMBER.com they have some cheap and strange .com-format modules, in kit-form too ! like a theremin-style photocell based cv controller (1 U) , a 3U ken stone wave multiplyer ,, a multimode filter combined with a osc into one 2U module (wtf), and a cheap (125$ for a kit) dual 2U lfo + some more strange stuff. i'll probably get a bunch of their modules after i finish my current project (a soundlab-based synth built into a geiger counter) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/15906-my-wife-just-got-me-the-ekters-dream-gift/#findComment-326047 Share on other sites

Guest LJG
LoL I knew exactly what this was going to be before reading the thread. Congrats! That is going to be uber fun. I don't know much about analog modular stuff, but I would imagine as your core gear grows, it will be easier and easier to expand upon it... Fuck yeah enjoy it man. Post pics of the build! ten fingers ten toes
Absolutely will do. The case is supposed to arrive in about 3 weeks, she paid a few months up front, so I think I might get some of the modules with it, will have to double check that. I'm toying with the idea of building a set of stands to angle the box up 3/4, like a tabletop mount basically. I guess Ill see when its here how necessary that would be. BTW iep, I'm now completely stoked about the bridechamber modules! Although, after building a PAiA Fatman, I'm not sure I want to go down the DIY route again. It certainly is economical though! Do you know of any other manufacturers that produce dotcom format modules? Guest Idiron
hehe, i found my old electronic projects kit from when i were wee and made a sine wave with pitchshift and then added pulsing... it was way too fiddley and i spent hours and hours with bloody resistors so i took it apart and raided the potentiometers for circuit bending.
