BCM
hello hello, i'm after something that can take MIDI signals and convert them into CV and DIN-sinc at the same time. So eg, I want to have my laptop as the master MIDI thing and then sync up a Korg KPR-77 drum machine to it using DIN-sync, a digital synth via MIDI and also an old analogue monosynth using CV. I want them all to be going at the same time and all in sync with the master MIDI clock (my laptop). The perfect thing for this is the Kenton Pro 4, but I can't find one for sale. So, I was wondering - with the Kenton Pro-Solo, you can use the MIDI-THRU as a DIN-sync connector. Can you then, have a MIDI signal going in to MIDI IN, a MIDI signal coming out of MIDI OUT and DIN-sync signal coming out of the MIDI THRU and also control something via CV all at the same time? I have also heard that the Novation Bass Station Rack has all this functionality as well as being a synth. Should I get one of these then? thx Edited December 20, 2006 by BCM Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide BCM's signature Hide all signatures Bandcamp | Spotify | SoundCloud | Amazon | Apple Music | YouTube | YouTube Music | Deezer | Google Play Music Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/16004-midi-conversion/ Share on other sites

Guest volg4
the super bass station rack has got cv and gate and clock out (all three are 1/4 inch mono jacks) no sync24 output, i think the bass station rack is the same maybe not exactly what you want but the synth is pretty decent, super bass station has input to filter and distortion and chorus (analogue) ive got one of these for sync24 (edit: dont think these are for sale anymore) i use them both for controlling an mc202, also got a kenton control freak, which has 2x 5v inputs ......i should be able to play midi synths with one of the mc202 sequencers Edited January 4, 2007 by volg4 Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/16004-midi-conversion/#findComment-335415 Share on other sites

BCM
cheers volg4, yeah looks pretty good that clock thing. the tricky thing with me is that i need DIN sync with 48ppqn compatability, or a converter that has switchable values. the KPR-77 i got will play at half speed if i sync it up with say, an MC-202 direct. i'm gonna have to get a kenton thing...... Guest clubbedtodeath
Look no further: http://www.kentonuk.com/ I use one of their MIDI-CV converters to drive my Korg MS-20 (which I bought a few days ago, we're still very much in love).
