Guest awkward
nice fade in. love a good fade. big kick. not keen on the hat. stop then some crazy basslines starts. almost doesn't fit but then begins too. catchy. not very christmasy mind. nice work. no mixing or composition crits. Dementia
I enjoyed the later parts of it -- 3:26 -- but haven't yet decided why. Guest Promo
Those rhythmicy pads are really nice but the bassline kinda sucks I felt. I really like the vibe of this though. Yeah quite feeling this I have to be honest. I could role with this if this was pumping in a club. Yeah the vocoder like pads are really nice. Yeah bassline is a little amateur compared to the rest of it. Pretty nice Max. Guest Kazuo
yeah i also enjoy this. easily listenable, smooth but not lackluster at all. professionaly produced. the bass does indeed sound cheap but the way it is embedded in the whole track makes it sound as if it is not meant too serious, being a homage to 80s sound module patches or something. i think i can spot the german techno influences here..? ;) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/16160-merry-x-mas/#findComment-336162 Share on other sites
Guest Max
Dementia said: I enjoyed the later parts of it -- 3:26 -- but haven't yet decided why. i wrote this in a moment of heavy influences. the later parts of 3:26 show splinters of a mirror i watched into. its not only changing the synth, but also supported by additional choir thats counterpointing a bit, i guess thats why its (perhaps) sounding fuller to you. the bassline is in the forefront while all the rest is echoing in the background. the obvious separation is wanted. patchwork might be a good point, but its not related to 80's. thanks for the nice reviews. peace.
