lost Mike & Rich track?

i was looking at the Wikipedia article for Expert Knob Twiddlers and it said this

I think someone said that this was an mp3 added to the planet-mu board or something by Mike Paradinas. I may be totally wrong on this though, and the quality is really poor.

lol. I just was listening to upright kangaroo and I let out a burp at the end that sounded just like the one in the song. It was awesome.

It doesn't sound better, just louder. I'm guessing that this is a processed re-encode from the mp3 I uploaded, which would mean that the quality is worse, not better, and the file is bigger...

i ran both of these mp3s through spectral analysis and it turns out the 96kbs version is purer. the richer spectral reading couldnt have been added from an analog filter (such as a tape rip from the original) since there are dead zones that match up in both which extend to the spectral area in the 96kbs version that is missing in the 32kbs version. any moar info would be cool.

well the 96kbs version certainly looks better, but the 128 is purer than the 32kbs version.

however i do find it odd that the 96kbs version has a dropout where the 128 version doesnt:

nothing conclusive, possibly come from two different sources, however the 96kbs version is probably the better one.

To my knowledge, this track was ever only released as an 32kbps MP3 on an early mailing list or P-Mu site that existed before they got the .com.
