A new song for new year

I just recently finished this over the festive period.

Please have a listen and let me know what you think.

I'm really fucking happy with it, and it's probably one of the best things I've done.

IRAIL: begin reminds a lot of freeform, liking it. nice shuffle beat. nice track actually, it's got originality, evolutions, strange but enjoyable mood, production is ok if not good, can't play loud because of sleeping housemates. reminds of stuff on my seed sampler too, dunno what exactly. the bass @ 3:20 is absolute class. love the 8bit type synth sound and the melody it plays (reminds of some track off marion by michael fakesch, much better than any funkstoerung output imo). again some changes. maybe the track lacks of logic in its evolution, when a change occurs, the listener must either have been prepared for it, or surprised, or at least intrigued. it's not always the case in this track (in *my* ears that is). very pleasant listen anyway, cheers.

Regarding the changes - There's a very loose A-B-C-B-A structure to it, but I'm not sure if the return from B to A towards the end is as smooth and natural as it could be.

the mix sounds really good to me. absolutely crisp, except for the high frequencies, which is due to the compression i think.

some plaid-ish chords in there, very nice. cool breakdowns, especially the one at ~1:20.

i don't really like the second square-shuffle-melody-thingy that fades in around 2:30.

to me the whole song seems a bit glutted and incoherent sometimes and the melodies are all to random for my taste but there are some elements that i really like.

Interesting beats and all, but i didn't much care for the reverb you used. It seemed to limit the depth of the sounds, but thats maybe what you where going for. Then mogue/bass synth thing kicked in, and i can dig it. This is pretty chilled, but with an edge. Can't really make up my mind wether i just think it's interesting or groovy. Segments of the song appeal to me (bass synth, the melacholic tones in the ending, an interesting beat), but some of the elements (like the reeverb on the 8-bit thing) ruined the mood a little for me.

this is very good. i didn't notice any problems compositionally. this isn't really the kind of music i listen to but i enjoy it when i do. hella braindance. reminded me of ovuca and cylob in parts, but not enough to sound actually like them. could have gone on much longer for me. built on that end part but i'm a sucker for builds. nice work. two thumbs up.
